The District of Cerveteri

The district of Cerveteri belongs to southern Etruria, located north of Rome just 30 minutes far from Saint Peter Church (Vatican), it's included among Tyrrhenian Sea, Tolfa Mountains, Bracciano Lake and the territory of Fiumicino (Leonardo Da Vinci Airport).

Cerveteri is well-known especially for its Etruscan Tombs that are not only concentrated in the famous Necropoli della Banditaccia (Unesco site) but all around the area.
The historical-cultural point of view is not the only reason to come here! Actually the visitor is struck by the landscape: large vineyards, tufa hills, wood and mediterranean maquis.
The district of Cerveteri is the perfect place to spend few days in the open air to go for a walk or to go the seaside and in the end it is the best solution to visit Rome saving money!

The district includes the following small towns: Marina di Cerveteri (Cerenova), Campo di Mare, Castel del Sasso, Valcanneto, I Terzi, Due Casette, Ceri and Borgo S. Martino (click here to view tha map details).
